When we were younger, slumber parties used to be so much fun. You get to stay up late, eat junk food and just hang out with your besties. Well, who said the fun had to end at childhood? Sure we’re all adults now with responsibilities but we do have what is called “vacation time” and everyone needs a little break. So why not enjoy a Throwback Slumber Party like it’s 19**?!?!

What You’ll Need:

  • The Basics: Who, What, When, Where
  • Determine your budget for Lodging, Food & Beverage, Entertainment, etc.
  • Find a fully furnished vacation home (we used Global…?) that fits within the budget

After you’ve identified your necessities. Check out a few of our recommendations:

Lodging

If you’re staying in Orlando, we recommend Global. They have several different locations to accommodate large families or parties. Renting a house versus a villa presents the following benefits: Depending on the size of your group, a house comfortably accommodates everyone, private pool, no noise complaints (because we all know what happens when several people get together, we’re loud by nature). Majority of rental properties are located in gated communities, so you don’t have to worry about uninvited guests.

Food & Beverages

Have everyone bring their favorite snacks and beverages to stock up the fridge and pantry.

Since this is a vacation, it should feel like a vacation. Unless someone truly enjoys cooking AND cleaning after a large meal that feeds 20 people every night, consider having each planned meal catered. And if you want something different than pizza or chinese food, we recommend caterers who are close in proximity, just in case they don’t deliver: Olive Garden, Pollo Tropical, Jimmy Johns, Publix, Chik-Fil-A, Panda Express, Bubbalous Bodacious Bar-B-Q, etc.

Entertainment

Have you tried the Sharper Image Bluetooth speaker with microphone? Sync it with Tidal and it’s like a nonstop party in a box. Tidal is a music app that streams all of your favorites without commercials, every song you could think of at your fingertips for a small monthly fee of ??

Have everyone bring their favorite classic movies and games.

Private Wine Tasting

Now that everyone has made it to 21 and up safely, consider having a certified wine sommolier conduct a wine tasting and educate your guests on perfect wine pairings

Conclusion: Let the fun begin!

Now you’re probably thinking: “I can do all this at my house.” Truth is–you can BUT that’s not a vacation. Collectively using the aforementioned suggestions, makes the event more enjoyable for both the guests and hosts. Now that’s how you #ThinkOutsideTheWorld
